Questions schools ask
Pikiko is a year-long creative enrichment programme for children aged 3 to 10. Weekly sessions combine a short discovery, storytelling, guided clay sculpting, independent creativity and a closing celebration. Pikiko provides the instructor, the curriculum and the materials, and delivers the programme inside your school.
No. Art is the medium. Every project also introduces a subject — an animal, a place, a value, a piece of science — through a short discovery at the start of the lesson, delivered from a prepared visual lesson plan.
Children aged 3 to 10, in four levels: 3–4, 5–6 (K1–K2), 7–8 (Standard 1–2) and 9–10 (Standard 3–4).
Yes. Kindergartens are one of our two main settings, and our 3–4 and 5–6 levels are designed for them.
Yes. Our 7–8 and 9–10 levels are built around Standard 1 to Standard 4.
Yes. Pikiko runs weekly across the school year as a progressive curriculum, not a series of unconnected workshops.
One hour, from the opening story through to the closing celebration.
English, Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin. Tell us your preference when you book and we will assign an instructor accordingly.
Yes. Pikiko provides a trained instructor, the full curriculum, a prepared lesson plan for every week and all creative materials. Your school provides the room, the time slot, a member of staff in the room and a contact person.
A classroom or activity space with tables and seating, a weekly slot and access arrangements, a member of staff present during each session, and a display or projector for the instructor where available.
No. Pikiko is a hands-on, screen-free hour for the children. The instructor may display a picture for a minute or two while introducing the week's subject, but the children themselves spend the whole session working with their hands.
Yes. The entire year is written before the first class, so we can show you every week's subject, every project and how the difficulty builds across the year. Ask for it when you book your demo.
The teaching method was developed by art teachers, educators and art therapists. Every instructor completes thorough professional training before their first class, and all come from a background in teaching, instruction or working with children.
Yes. Every instructor is screened against the Child Registry held by the Department of Social Welfare before their first class, and re-screened annually. We also carry public liability insurance and run open-door classes that any member of your staff may sit in on at any time.
No. We do not collect, request or hold any personal data about the children who take part — no names, no class lists, no attendance records and no photographs. Everything about a child stays with your school. The only records we keep are your staff contact details and the signed programme agreement.
We charge a fixed fee per class, per week — not per child. The fee is the same however many children attend and whichever age group they are. Your kindergarten or school then sets what parents pay and keeps the difference, so the more children enrol, the better the margin on your side. We give you the exact figure in writing after the free demo class.
Per class. One fixed weekly fee covers the whole session regardless of how many children are in it, up to about 30. That means your cost stays flat while your enrolment grows.
Yes. We run a free demo class at your school with your own children, with no commitment.
Up to about 30, depending on the age group and classroom setup.

Yes. For schools that prefer non-figurative work we provide an alternative project for every figurative week — food, plants, vehicles, buildings, landmarks, patterns, letters and objects.
Yes. Clay Programme projects air-dry and go home with the child the same week.
The child rejoins the following week. Because each lesson produces a complete creation, missing one session does not prevent a child taking part in the next.
No. All Pikiko projects are original designs. We do not use characters, logos or designs owned by other companies.
A second Pikiko programme using colourful sugar paste. It is not open to schools yet. We will publish full ingredient, allergen and food-handling information before it launches.
Throughout Malaysia. We are not limited to a particular state or region and place instructors wherever kindergartens and schools need them. Contact us with your location and we will confirm instructor availability and scheduling for your area.
